Breakthrough Learning is focused on providing innovative learning services. We focus on the neuroscience behind the educational experience for the most learning in the least amount of time. We also incorporate a lot of fun into our classes and tutoring! We want students to feel successful each time they are learning. Our services include:
- Orton-Gillingham based tutoring: Orton-Gillingham is a scientifically based methodology for teaching bright kids with language based learning differences, like dyslexia. It is one on one and for greatest effectiveness 3-5 times per week. For more information see our page on Orton-Gillingham.
Reading and Writing Enrichment Classes: These once a week classes are taught in a creative, small group format and included teaching from a selection of youth literature and encouraging students to exercise their creativity to produce and publish their own stories.
- Homework Help: In a small group or one-on-one setting we provide general homework support. Our homework help services are both diagnostic and prescriptive in that we help identify areas of strength and areas of weakness for each learner. This helps us as educators to allow a student to grow and flourish in an area of ability, while prescribing strengthening exercises and games for areas where neural pathways need to be trained.
